Phone and/or Internet not working

If your phone and/or Internet are not working, it could mean that the brick for the phone needs to be reset.  To reset it, unplug every cable including the power cable.  Leave it unplugged for at least 2 minutes, then (being careful to replace them as they were) plug all the cables back in.
